As an Evansville, IN commercial footwear photographer specializing in product and lifestyle photography, Greers N Motion helps shoe brands create imagery that shows customers not just what a product looks like, but how it fits into their everyday lives. Based in Evansville, Indiana, we work with footwear brands and retailers to create campaign imagery, e-commerce photography, and lifestyle content that feels authentic to the people who actually wear the products.
When you think workwear photography, your mind probably jumps straight to function. But function can tell a powerful visual story. In a recent Evansville brand photography project for Shoe Carnival, we brought together some of the biggest names in workwear — Wolverine, DeWalt, Timberland Pro, CAT, and Skechers Slip Resistant Shoes — and gave each one a setting that speaks directly to the people who wear them every day.
The heart of this workwear lifestyle photography project was authenticity. Every brand had its own purpose, and we wanted the environments to reflect the reality of the job.
Steel-toed Wolverine boots? We shot them deep inside a warehouse, surrounded by pallets and forklifts. Soft-toed Skechers Slip Resistant shoes? Those came to life in a busy restaurant kitchen, where safety and comfort matter just as much as style.
From gravel lots at a construction site to the heavy machinery of an excavator and bulldozer, every setting was chosen to make the viewer think, “That’s my world.”
One of the best parts of workwear product photography is the variety. One moment, we’re lying in gravel at a construction site, capturing the rugged durability of CAT work boots. The next, we’re weaving between prep tables in a kitchen, making sure the light hits the product just right.
The weather and environments are always unpredictable — some days call for layers and warm gloves, while others have us reapplying sunscreen between takes. It’s all part of what makes lifestyle photography so much more interesting than simply photographing a product against a backdrop.
The goal is always the same: create images that make the product feel real, useful, and connected to the customer it’s designed for.
With workwear lifestyle photography, location does the heavy lifting. It’s not just a backdrop — it’s part of the visual language of the brand.
A good setting instantly tells a potential customer, “This shoe was made for you.”
Whether it’s dusty gravel, bright safety gear, or the gleam of stainless steel in a commercial kitchen, every detail helps communicate where the product belongs and who it’s made for.
Shooting for multiple brands in one project means shifting gears quickly. Timberland Pro’s tough, ready-for-anything vibe calls for a completely different energy than the clean, professional look of Skechers Slip Resistant.
That variety is one of the things we love most about commercial footwear photography. Every brand has a different customer, personality, and purpose — and the photography should reflect that.
From work boots and safety footwear to lifestyle shoes and everyday sneakers, our goal is to create imagery that feels authentic to the brand while giving customers a reason to picture themselves in the product.
The best footwear photography does more than show a shoe. It gives the product context.
It shows where the shoe belongs, who wears it, what it can handle, and how it fits into real life. That’s what turns a product image into a piece of brand storytelling — and ultimately gives a customer more reasons to connect with what they’re seeing.
If your footwear brand is ready for product and lifestyle photography that puts your products in their true environment, we’d love to hear about your next campaign.
