The holiday season is a magical time — and for us, that magic spills right into the studio. Recently, we had the joy of creating a festive holiday shoe shoot that was nothing short of a winter wonderland come to life.
Most of the shoot took place in our studio, which we transformed into a cozy holiday scene. We pulled out all the stops: a roaring fireplace setup, twinkling Christmas lights, lush holiday decor, a cozy rug, beautifully wrapped presents, rolls of wrapping paper, and so much more. When it comes to holiday shoots, prep is everything — and with so many props to bring in and set up, load-in day is a major production in itself.
Wrapping the presents was a whole adventure on its own. There’s something about that holiday ritual that’s equal parts joyful and chaotic — and yes, it got messy! Wrapping paper scraps were everywhere, but honestly, that colorful mess perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas. It’s part of the fun and authenticity that makes the shoot so special.
We didn’t stop inside the studio, either. We took the celebration outdoors for some fresh shots, complete with fake snow and a vibrant blue backdrop that made everything pop. The atmosphere was cheerful, bright, and full of holiday cheer — exactly what the Shoe Carnival brand embodies. It’s a brand that’s unabashedly fun and a little cheesy in the best way possible. When you look at these photos, it’s impossible not to smile.
This shoot reminded me why I love holiday photography so much. It’s about capturing moments that feel joyful, warm, and just a little bit magical. And with the Shoe Carnival team bringing so much energy and spirit, this was one holiday shoot to remember.
